While candle company Queen B may have started as a passion project, it has since blossomed into a buzzing business in the world of beeswax products.

Founded by Cate Burton in 2000, Queen Bā€™s story is a remarkable tale of startup to success - from therapeutic candle rolling to pioneering beeswax wraps and expanding into a wide range of bee-inspired creations.

For Cate, rolling candles became a way to manage the anxieties of a high-pressure corporate job - and create a sweetly scented living space at the same time.

These benefits quickly transformed into a business venture. And since then Queen B has created an astonishing two million candles, with each one embodying the values of style and sustainability.

Central to Queen B's success is its commitment to crafting candles from 100% pure Australian beeswax and pure cotton wicks - providing a natural alternative to paraffin, soy, or palm wax.

Queen Bā€™s beeswax is sourced mindfully from Australian bees and beekeepers throughout regional Australia.

Cleaned for 48 hours with a proprietary method, it's distilled to its purest form, ensuring the cleanest burning candles on the market made from wax that is good enough to eat. .

According to Cate, with its varying colours and beautiful translucence, natural beeswax is an extraordinary material to work with.

"As a result of years of research and development, our beeswax candles offer a longer burn time and a more golden flame, thanks to the absence of chemical bleaching," she said.

"In addition, when burned correctly, Queen B candles do not smoke or drip, and their wicks do not disintegrate or drown in wax, providing a cleaner experience."

Collaborations have also been a cornerstone of Queen B's with the brand partnering with a number of iconic names. Including creating tailored pillars for Cartier's Love Day VIP dinner at EST. Restaurant in 2007, crafting a stunning light sculpture for Dom PĆ©rignon at Vue De Monde in 2012, and partnering with Dinosaur Designs to produce their first limited edition range of pillar candles in 2014 and again in 2015.

More recently, Queen B expanded its horizons by crafting beeswax wraps, and pioneering an eco-friendly alternative to plastic food wrap in Australia.

Created by blending beeswax with locally sourced ingredients such as pure cotton, organic coconut oil, and tree resin, these wraps were an extension of Cate's love for beeswax, offering a natural and sustainable solution to reduce plastic waste in kitchens.

Building upon the success of their candles and wraps, Queen B continues to extend its product range to offer an array of bee-inspired creations.

Today, their collection includes corporate hampers, exquisite soaps, delightful chocolates, essential oils, honey, and bee-themed homewares available at www.queenb.com.au
