Luxury cruise lovers, take note: Windstar Cruises has unveiled its 2027 Japan itineraries following unprecedented demand for its 2026 sailings aboard the brand-new Star Seeker.

Adding to the excitement, the cruise line has also announced an additional sailing date for 2026.

“Just months after announcing our 2026 plans in Japan, we’re nearly sold out,” shared Janet Bava, Windstar Cruises’ Chief Commercial Officer.

“The combination of our return to Asia for the first time since 2023, a brand-new ship, and Japan’s surge in popularity as a global travel destination has created an excitement for this region that we have not seen before.”

The Star Seeker will embark on its journey to Japan in early September 2026, crossing the Pacific from Alaska. Its popular 10-night Grand Japan itinerary will be offered on five dates through October 2026, with an expanded schedule in spring 2027 featuring seven sailings from March through May.

The Grand Japan itinerary promises an immersive experience with highlights such as cruising the Inland Sea, exploring the eerie beauty of the abandoned island of Hashima, and visiting the historic Peace Memorial Parks in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

Guests will also call at smaller, culturally rich ports like Takamatsu, famed for its gardens and Udon, and Karatsu, home to its striking castle.

Windstar offers the Kyoto & the Zen of Japan Cruise Tour for those seeking to deepen their adventure. This extension includes a journey inland to Kyoto, where guests can enjoy hot springs, participate in a traditional tea ceremony, and marvel at the iconic Golden Pavilion.

Spring sailings in 2027 offer an added bonus: the chance to witness Japan’s breathtaking cherry blossoms. With Star Seeker featuring balcony accommodations and infinity windows, guests can soak up the scenery in unparalleled comfort.
