SA WINERY WINS COVETED GOLD AT INTERNATIONAL WINE CHALLENGE
South Australian winery Beresford Wines has secured a prestigious 95-point Gold award at the International Wine Challenge 2024, a globally recognised platform, for its Beresford Classic Shiraz 2021.
Competing against wine produced from more than 90 countries, this accolade underscores the exceptional quality and craftsmanship that Beresford Wines is renowned for.
The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is recognised as the world's most rigorous and influential wine competition.
Each wine is assessed blind for its faithfulness to style, region, and vintage, ensuring an impartial and comprehensive evaluation.
The IWC judging panel comprises more than 500 experts from 38 countries, including Masters of Wine and leading industry figures, who identify the highest-quality wines from around the globe.
Beresford Wines Head Winemaker Chris Dix said: "This is a huge accolade for our vineyard; the coveted Gold Medal signifies wines that have achieved extraordinary quality.
"Not only does it put South Australian (and Australian) wines on the world map, but it reinforces our commitment to producing wines that truly capture the essence of McLaren Vale."
Mr Dix highlighted the meticulous viticultural practices and innovative winemaking techniques that contribute to the quality of their wines.
"Each step, from vineyard to bottle, truly reflects the rich heritage and unique terroir of McLaren Vale and the Beresford Wines legacy, which dates back to 1985," he said.
The Beresford Classic Shiraz 2021 is a masterfully balanced wine featuring a complex bouquet and a rich, full-bodied palate.
Tasting notes reveal prominent aromas of blueberry and plum, accompanied by hints of potpourri.
