A cozy bedroom with a gray bed, green bedding, art-filled walls, and potted plants. Light pink walls and wooden floors create a serene vibe.

Hannah Shore, Head of Sleep Science, said: "Choose room colours that evoke calmness in you; think of colours you see in nature, subtle colours of blues and greens. Bright colours can make the room feel busy and alive, which is not what you want when falling asleep.

“Of course there is some psychology behind this but colours won't necessarily affect everyone, so if you have a bright yellow bedroom and are sleeping fine then that is great, you don't have to go and change everything.

“Different things evoke calmness in different people, too. My calm place is nature, so I try to bring that into the bedroom to help me sleep. Think of a place that evokes calmness in you, the colours associated with that place and try to bring those into your bedroom decor."
