EAT YOURSELF BETTER WITH THE POWER OF FRESH WHOLE FOODS

Kate Save

From starting her business in a tiny shared kitchen to appearing on Shark Tank Australia, dietician Kate Save has revolutionised scientific rapid weight loss through the power of fresh whole foods. Here. she shares her story with Lifestyle News.

In today’s world we are faced with countless diet trends shaping the way in which we approach weight loss.

From viral TikTok trends to celebrities swearing by the Mediterranean diet, it’s no surprise we feel overwhelmed - particularly as, while these diets may promise quick results, they go against just about everything nutritional science tries to achieve.

Counter to what social media is teaching us, food is not the enemy. Rather, it is a biological necessity that fuels our bodies and minds.

That’s why I founded Be Fit Food - to take the guesswork out of healthy eating by providing delicious, nutritious meals that support weight loss goals.

The approach is simple: we create balanced, healthy meals that are tailored to your specific needs, putting an end to macro calculations and worrying about portion sizes. With Be Fit Food, you just eat.

One of the biggest challenges we face today is the lack of adequate education around nutrition and lifestyle choices.

I personally struggled with food-related stomach issues throughout my youth and despite countless doctor visits, I couldn’t find the cause.

This experience led me to dedicating my life to helping others. I opened my own health consultancy to provide the missing piece - nutritional education - and support individuals in reaching their health and wellness goals.

My passion lies in empowering Australians to develop healthy relationships with food and prevent weight-related health conditions.

Using food as the first medicine, I’ve witnessed incredible transformations in my clients. Focusing on nutrient-dense, high-protein, and low-calorie meals, we have helped lower blood pressure, increase energy levels, improve sleep quality, and, of course, lose weight.

My primary goal has been, and and always will be, finding new ways to help Australians eat themselves better.

Be Fit Food was founded on this very goal. Together with bariatric surgeon Dr Geoffrey Draper, we formulated the nation's first meal program designed for fast, healthy, and sustainable weight loss. In 2016 we opened our first kitchen in the Mornington Peninsula and the demand for our meal programs grew rapidly.

Realising the potential to transform weight loss across the country, we took a leap and appeared on Shark Tank Australia. The response was incredible, and with the support of Janine Allis, the founder of Boost Juice, we experienced exponential growth overnight.

Since then, Be Fit Food has received numerous awards and recognition for our commitment to restoring health, wellness, and sustainable weight loss.

We were named Victorian Telstra Business of the Year in 2018, was a Telstra Business Medium and Making Waves Finalist in 2019 and ranked #29 in the 2020 AFR Fast Starters. These accolades highlight the impact food can have on our lives when we approach it with intention and care.

When it comes to weight loss, many people immediately think of intense cardio workouts, protein shakes, and supplements. As a nutritionist, I've always been fascinated by the science behind mild nutritional ketosis, which served as the foundation for Be Fit Food's wholefood meal program.

Our meals are evidence-based, expertly designed by doctors and accredited dieticians to optimise your health. They are low in carbs, high in protein, contain a minimum of four to twelve vegetables, and have under 500 milligrams of sodium per serving.

To ensure you receive all the essential nutrients, our meals are snap-frozen, locking in their goodness until you're ready to enjoy them.

Our ultimate goal at Be Fit Food is to foster a healthy relationship with food—one that makes eating effortless and enjoyable. We want to help you connect with your body and provide it with the nutrients it needs to thrive, supporting your energy levels, mood, and overall well-being.

As a female entrepreneur, I know the value of time and the importance of prioritising your health. Be Fit Food is here to make it easier for you to achieve your weight loss goals without sacrificing taste, quality, or convenience.

Kate Save is the CEO and co-founder of Be Fit Food. She is also an accredited practising dietitian, diabetes educator and exercise physiologist.
