CRAFTING FLAVOUR IN SMALL SPACES: THIS TINY BAR IS SHAKING UP SYDNEY'S COCKTAIL SCENE

Vinabar

Craving delicious cocktails with a touch of creativity? Try Vinabar, Sydney’s only Vietnamese-inspired micro-bar.

It has just unveiled five brand-new creative cocktails and a $12 spicy marg promotion that’ll make you wish every hour was happy hour.

The cosy space, no larger than two car spaces, remains hidden behind a steel door disguised as a bánh mì cart, nestled within the arched laneways of Kent Street. I

Inspired by the vibrant nightlife and warm hospitality of Southeast Asia, Vinabar’s ceiling is adorned with sixty silk lanterns imported from Hoi An, while its walls are decorated with hung frames of exotic adventures. This unique ambience perfectly captures their slogan: “small space, big dreams.”

Highlights of their new menu include the Opens With Sesame, a creative twist on a dirty martini featuring their house-made pandan sesame oil ($25), and Mẹ’s Remedy, which combines homemade pho syrup—crafted from the traditional spices of pho—with bourbon and citrus for a well-rounded finish ($24).

If that’s not incentive enough to visit, they’ve also introduced the $12 Mala-Garita special, available Tuesday to Thursday from 5-7 pm. This spicy margarita twist features tequila, pineapple juice, hot Thai peppers, sugar, lime juice, and mala syrup for a unique kick.

If you're feeling hungry, round off your visit with a traditional Vietnamese treat: their Baby Banh Mi. This smaller version of the classic Vietnamese pork roll is served with fresh chilli and coriander and comes with a shot of Vietnamese coffee—all for just $12.
